Gear
: I have two Ibanez 4-string basses and an Ibanez 4-string Acoustic bass. I play through a Hartke head and a couple of old Peavey cabs - one 15 inch cone cabinet and one with four 10 inch cones. That's about it right now folks. In fact my most important gear, My fingers have not been playing much bass as of late due to fatherhood. Lets see what happens in the gear department after the new year when I start playing more often. Last year, I went from using 45,65,85,105 gauge strings to a heavier gauge string for both the G and D. I really love the difference.Favorite Albums: It is really a mood thing. It is so hard to pick the most... or favorite... How about in the past few months this is what has been in heavy rotation: Rush, They are always in heavy rotation for me; Neal Morse- ?, yet another masterpiece from this genius musician. I cant give this album enough praise. Porcupine Tree - Deadwing; Marillion - Marbles, STILL cant put it down... it is a masterpiece; Kino- Excellent rookie release for this band; Peter Gabriel- UP; OSI; Dream Theater-Octovarium; Fish- Fellini days, probably rated as one of his least liked albums by his fans, but one of my favorites; assorted jazz like Duke, Benny, Artie Shaw, Count Basie, etc.; and of course always some Led Zeppelin; some Beatles; Time and Tide, for review of the new material; and lots of baby Mozart and baby Beethoven.
First Concert : Ozzy Osbourne at the Boston Garden in 1983. And the last show I saw was Porcupine tree at the old Davis square theater in Somervile, MA back in early may I think it was. Actually I think it was Eccentric Orbit at the Lowell Brewery. I have not been out much this year.
Most Memorable Band Moment : The first time we played
Circle the Sun live in its entirety. The band was spot on and the crowd loved it. Of course we did not record or videotape that show. Most memorable music moment would be playing alto sax in my junior high school band.Life Influences : Family, Friends, Work, and Music.... You know the usual things that influence you.
Interests : Family, Music, Hiking, Music, Basketball, Beer, Music, Coffee, Great food, Border Café anyone? Did I mention Music?
Favorite Movie/Book/TV Show : Again it is a mood thing. How about, I just saw Bruce Almighty (pretty funny); currently reading a Beatles biography and I just got done watching (Sort of) Chevy Chase in Christmas Vacation.
